Self-direction is a combination of two Attributes, Creativity and Self-choice. The combined Attributes are CDSM Ltd. modifications of the Schwartz PVQ-21 system for measuring human values - of which Self-direction is one of ten.

Demographic Skews:

1) Over-indexed: 45-64, up-market.

2) Under-indexed: 25-34.

Self-direction espousers also espouse other Attributes (apart from their component parts). The top five most highly correlated Attributes of Self-direction espousers are, in order of the strength of relationship:

3) Independent

5) Learner.

In total those who espouse Self-direction also over-index significantly on 34 other Attributes.
